IVF is a method of infertility treatment in which the man’s sperm and the woman’s eggs are combined outside of the body. IVF is a major decision that requires a couple to assess many medical, emotional and financial factors.

IUI is a fertility treatment where sperm are placed directly into a woman’s uterus. Sperm are “washed” and concentrated, and also placed directly into the uterus, which puts them closer to the egg.

During ICSI, a single sperm is injected directly into the cytoplasm the woman's egg. Once fertilization occurs, the fertilized egg (now called an embryo) grows in a laboratory for 1 to 5 days before it is transferred to the womb.

Surrogacy is an arrangement, often supported by a legal agreement, whereby a woman agrees to bear a child for another person or persons who will become the child's parent after birth.
