Bethany Fertility Centre offers a wide range of fertility treatment solutions, the journey begins from assessment, investigation and later plan of care/treatment.

Objectives of the assessment

• To determine the need for further diagnostic evaluation.
• To identify any aetiological factors.
• To determine the optimum plan of management.
• To counsel the couple about options and possible out comes.

The need for diagnostic evaluation

FAILURE TO CONCEIVE DESPITE ADEQUATE UNPROTECTED INTERCOURSE FOR 12 MONTHS

• No conception in 12 or more months.
• Adequate sexual encounter (heterosexual form, penetrative vaginal, 3 or more encounters in 7 consecutive days)

WARRANTED EARLIER (6- <12MONTHS)

• Woman over 35 years of age.
• History of oligo or amenorrhoea.
• Known or suspected uterine/tubal/peritoneal disease.
• Known or suspected male sub-fertility.

Aims of diagnostic evaluation

• At assessing  the structure and functioning of the entire reproductive axes in both partners.
• Determine the psychosocial and economic impacts of infertility on the couple.

Evaluation of the female partner

• Assess ovarian reserve.
• Determine the occurrence of ovulation.
• Assess tubal patency.
• Assess the uterus.
• Endocrine control (H&P)

Ovarian Reserve Assessment

• Age (physiological drop from 35 yrs and above)
• Menstrual history (scanty, irregular periods may indicate DOR)
• PMS/POF.
• History of pelvic surgery (Cystectomy, Oophorectomy, etc)
• Use of chemotherapy/Pelvic radiotherapy.
• H/O recurrent miscarriages.
